Halicarcinus whitei (Miers, 1876)
Carapace green, yellow, grey or brown, sometimes finely speckled with white or black. White's false Spider Crab have a pair of small white patches at base of last pair of legs and another on the posterior margin. Feeds on algae, seagrass and polychaetes.
Host/prey of the endoparasitic Maritrema novaezealandensis Martorelli.
Similar to Halicarcinus spp. and Halimena aoteoroa.
