Cuspidella Quallen sind Hydrozoa also keine Schirmquallen. Sie kommen in allen nördlichen Gewässern vor und ernähren sich dort von Plankton. Der Lebenszyklus ist zweigeteilt: eine Quallenphase die durch geschlechtliche Vermehrung Polypen gibt der ungeschlechtlich eine Kolonie bildet und Quallen absondert.
