Husbandry
Salarias fasciatus (Bloch, 1786)
Adults inhabit reef flats as well as shallow lagoon and seaward reefs. Also found in estuarine areas with algae-rich rubble patches on reef flats and slopes. Intertidal to a few meters depth
This fish is THE algae eating fish. Problems of getting him used to artificial food have been reported. Very agressive against others of his kind. Might as well be agressive against other fish, usually harmless though.
