Ebalia tumefacta (Montagu, 1808)

The Bryer's nut crab can be found on muddy sand, gravel or stones to about 15 m.Carapace slightly broader than long. Variable in colour, ranging from reddish, yellowish-grey, variegated brown, banded pink or orange.The arms are equal in length, the claws are equal in size.

This crab is a omnivore, predator and scavenger.
