Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Acropora abrolhosensis are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Acropora abrolhosensis, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Acropora abrolhosensis, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Husbandry

Similar Species: Acropora formosa, which does not have very large axial corallites but otherwise is similar. See also the larger A. microphthalma, the smaller A. loisetteae and A. copiosa, which has radial corallites of different sizes.

Classification: Biota > Animalia (Kingdom) > Cnidaria (Phylum) > Anthozoa (Class) > Hexacorallia (Subclass) > Scleractinia (Order) > Acroporidae (Family) > Acropora (Genus)
