Info

Børgesen, 1914

The funnel algae forms curly, fan-like branches from a stem and reaches a size of about 15 cm.
The leaves are often irregularly divided and branched. The upper surfaces of the fans are calcified and whitish, the rest of the algae is brownish.

The brown algae is found on rocky substrates, particularly frequently in shallow reefs, down to a depth of around 11 meters.
