Info

Halgerda diaphana Fahey & Gosliner, 1999

White with orange ridges. Orange spots may be present between the ridges. The mantle margin has a submarginal orange band and an intense white edge. The gills and rhinophores are translucent white with densely scattered black spots.

The intense white edge is an important identification feature. The original description by Fahey and Gosliner stated that Halgerda diaphana was only known from the RyuKyu Islands (Okinawa). In the meantime, however, there have also been confirmed sightings in other areas such as Batangas and Taiwan.
