The non-toxic round crab Heteronucia venusta also shows strong bright colors, but is harrmless.

Carapace not very broad and without lateral projections. Anterior lateral margins crinkled and thin, curved upward.
Eye sockets and antenna pits terminated by infraorbital lobe immediately abutting anterior margin. Basal antennal article immovably fused to suborbital lobe; flagellum usually very small or redundant. Chelipeds: Finger movable in oblique plane.
