Pylopaguropsis zebra belongs to the family Paguridae - right-handed hermit crabs. They are called right-handed hermit crabs because the right claw is significantly larger than the left. Right-handed hermit crabs live in all oceans, from the coasts to the deep sea. Most of the 550+ species remain smaller than their left-handed relatives.
The cornea of Pylopaguropsis zebra is yellow, the eye pattern, antennae are red. The whole body is red with white stripes. The large right scissors are partially reddish. The zebra hermit lives at greater depths in dark places such as caves.
