Xiphonectes macrophthalmus (Rathbun, 1906)

Xiphonectes macrophthalmus is a swimming crab in the family Portunidae. Portunid crabs are characterised by the flattening of the fifth pair of legs into broad paddles, which are used for swimming.

Carapace with 4 frontal teeth, outer much larger.
