Info

The colonies of Xenia hicksoni are small and delicate and usually develop in small clumps.

The species is known from the Gulf of Aqaba, Israel (Red Sea) and from Mayotte in the western Indian Ocean.
Dr. Michael Janes gives occurrences from Lembeh, Indonesia.

Keeping experiences of the soft corals seem to be missing so far.

We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Michael Schleyer from South Africa, who photographed and identified the species in the Indian Ocean around Mayotte.
