Colour pattern of this Crinoid shrimp is very variable. Some specimens have a colour pattern with longitudinal red and yellowish stripes, some stripes being interrupted and forming longitudinal series of spots. Others species are with black spots on a yellow background with a few small whitish marks.
The different colour patterns mimic the colour pattern of the feather star Tropiometra carinata.
Similar to Hippolyte leptometrae.
