Info

In 2016, the Minden Reef and Roe Reefs in temperate Western Australia near Perth were surveyed for 427 species of marine flora and fauna, and it was found that Alertigorgia mjöbergi was the dominant soft coral species in the study area and the only species present in both reefs.
The occurrence in Minden Reef is the best known southern occurrence of this coral species to date.

Alertigorgia mjöbergi has a “typical” gorgonian shape with long, snake-like branches, but so far we have no information about the successful keeping and reproduction of this endemic Australian species.
